Narin & Portnoo Golf Club Notes 21st September 2010
Those intending to go on the Captain’s Outing to Ballyliffin on October 9th and 10th should pay their special rate of 110 euro per person sharing (non-golfers are welcome to come for just 80 euro) as soon as possible. This can be done in the Pro Shop. The fee covers two rounds of golf, bed and breakfast, an evening meal and prize-fund.
Malachy Murrin of Killybegs was the worthy winner of the September medal competition, sponsored by the Ardara G.A.A. club. After a week of incessant rain and wind (Wednesday‘s Open was cancelled), it was a relief to find conditions more to the golfers’ liking on Sunday. Malachy is no stranger to the winner’s podium, and he made an excellent start, birdying both the third and tough fourth on his front nine of one over gross. Another at fourteen, together with a fine collection of pars culminated in a six under par nett score of 67.
