Naomh Conaill Notes 31st October 2011
History was made in the Naomh Conaill club last Saturday when the club won its first ever U-13 County Championship at Division 1 (A Grade). This was achieved after a hard earned and tense 3-7 to 3-5 victory over St Eunan’s in the Co Final, at Pairc Taobhoige, Glenfin, with the result in doubt right up till the end. Great credit for this must go to this very dedicated group of young players who wore the club jersey with pride and distinction throughout this campaign
The team is managed and coached by Seosamh Mac Ceallabhui, who has to be highly commended for his commitment to this group of youngsters this past number of years. Well done to Seosamh and his assistants, Michael Quinn, Martin Mc Dyre, Hughie Mc Gill, Damien Craig and Vincent Cranley on a job well done. The club, management and players are extremely grateful to Eileen Mc Dyer(Raudon Teoranta) and Sven Sjoholm(Tazettta Ltd) who contributed towards kitbags for the U13s and Frank Mc Guinness who provided minerals after the final.
The seniors secured a league play off against Ardara to decide who will won the league after beating Glenswilly 1-14 to 2-7 at home last Sunday.
