Glenties Notes on October 5th 2001
Congratulations to twelve year old David Gallagher, (son of Gerard and Margo) The Rock, Glenties, who came second in the Junior Stock Car Racing Championship in Manorcunningham recently. David will be presented with his prize money and trophy at a dinner dance in “Mc Brides”, Castlefinn on 9th November.
Congratulations to our under – 16 team who won the Divisional final on Sunday last.
If you are a traditional music fan Glenties is the place to be next Friday, Saturday and Sunday, as it is the ‘Fiddlers Weekend’ and fiddlers and other musicians from far and wide will be converging on the town.
At the end of the month on Sunday 28th witches and all sorts from all over the place will be in the Limelight for the Annual Witches Ball. Since it started three years ago this has been a fun night in the town with most patrons coming in fancy dress.
