Glenties Notes on October 24th 2003

Congratulations to Emer and Poggy O’ Donnell, Mill Road, Glenties on the birth recently of their fourth child, a baby sister for Ronan, Ailbhe and Mark.

Congratulations to Evelyn Ward, who recently qualified as a doctor. Evelyn is a daughter of Michael and Mary Ward, Straboy, Glenties.

The death took place on Wednesday 15th October 2003 in Killybegs Hospital of Mary Mc Hugh, (nee Toland) Dr. Mc Closkey Crescent, Glenties and formerly of Glen Road, Glenties. Her remains were brought to her home on Thursday and to St. Connell’s Church, Glenties on Friday morning. Fr. Patrick Prendergast celebrated Requiem Mass. Readings were by Marie Watters and Sheila Gillespie. Music was by Sr. Immaculata on the organ. Burial took place in the New Graveyard. Mary is survived by two sisters, Bella, Ard Mc Gill, Glenties and Sarah in Mayo, two nieces in Scotland, other relatives and many friends to whom sincere sympathy is extended. Her husband John predeceased her in 1991. Three brothers, Joe, James and Danny also predeceased her.

Sincere sympathy is extended to the wife of Eugene Boyle, Ballybofey (formerly of Station Road, Glenties), who died at his home on Saturday 18th October 2003, and to his sister, Annie O’Donnell, Meenadina, Glenties, to his cousins and all his relatives and friends.
