Glenties Notes on November 8th 2001

Christine Fletcher and John Mc Cool were married in St. Connell’s Church, Glenties on Saturday 27th October 2001. Fr. Patrick Prendergast P.P. Glenties officiated and celebrated Nuptial Mass. Christine is a daughter of Bid and the late Jimmy Fletcher, Ard Patrick, Glenties and John is a son of Sean and Juliana Mc Cool, Ballybofey. Her mother gave the bride away and her sister, Anne Bonner, attended her. John’s brother, Martin was bestman. Readings were by the groom and Maureen Loughrey, a cousin of the bride. The bride sang the Psalm. Anne Bonner, sister of the bride, Martin and Sean Mc Cool, brother and father of the groom, Evan Bonner, nephew of the bride and Michael Mulligan, cousin of the groom read Prayers of the Faithful. Joan Mc Cool, sister of the groom and Mary Doherty, aunt of the bride brought the Gifts to the Altar. Music was by St. Connell’s Church choir. The reception was held in Kee’s Hotel, Stranorlar and the honeymoon was spent touring.

Congratulations to Michael Fitzgerald, Dr. Mc Closkey Crescent, Glenties who completed his 21st marathon in Dublin on Monday 29th October 2001.

The Sacrament of Confirmation for the Parish of Iniskeel, will be administered in St. Colmcille’s Church, Fintown on Sunday 10th March 2002.

Sincere sympathy is extended to Mary Kate Browne, Charlie and Mickey Mc Dermot, Edeninfagh, on the death of their brother, Eddie, which took place in Letterkenny on Sunday 4th November 2001.

Sincere sympathy is extended to Martin and Rosemary Sweeney and sons, Galway, on the death of their son and brother, Conor, which took place on Monday 5th November 2001. Sympathy also to Conor’s grandmother, Mamie Sweeney, Gortnasillagh, Glenties and to his uncles, aunts and other relatives and friends.
