Glenties Notes on June 7th 2002
The annual Corpus Christi Procession took place inside the church this year because the weather was not favourable. Fr. Nigel carried the Blessed Sacrament around the church with the children who received their First Holy Communion on Saturday joining in the procession.
Sincere sympathy is extended to Leo Mc Loone, Main Street and Padraig Mc Loone, Straboy, Glenties on the tragic death recently of their grandniece, Karen Mc Glynn, Termon. Deepest sympathy also to her parents, grandparents, other family members, relatives and friends.
Sincere sympathy is extended to the relatives and friends of Seamie Dunleavy, Glenties who died in St. Joseph’s Hospital, Stranorlar on Saturday last.
Congratulations to the boys and girls who received their First Holy Communion on Saturday 1st June in St. Connell’s Church, Glenties; – Alanah Mc Donnell, Anthony Molloy, Edel Kennedy, Amy Mc Gettigan, Kevin Herron, Riaghan O’Callaghan, Mark Gallagher, Ciara Mc Devitt, Lucia Byrne, Stacey Carr-Kennedy, Nader Soltani, Rosha Soltani, James Mc Dyre, Lauren Waide, Alison Doherty, Edward Scott, Conal Gavigan, Shannan Gallagher, Louise Molloy, Christopher Furey and Tara Melly. Fr. Prendergast assisted by Fr. Ó Gallachóir celebrated the Mass. The children did the Readings, read Prayers of the Faithful and carried the Gifts to the Altar. Children from the three schools, Glenties, Kilkenny and Drimnacrosh, provided the music.
Congratulations to Patricia and Sean Campbell, Main St. Glenties on the birth recently in Letterkenny Hospital of their second child, a little sister for Jonathan.
Congratulations to John Paul Gallagher, Glenties and Pauline Mc Devitt, Loughfad, who got engaged recently.
