Glenties Notes on July 4th 2002

The death took place at her home on Tuesday 25th June 2002 of Annie Gallagher, Narin Road, Glenties. Her remains were brought to St. Connell’s Church, Glenties on Thursday morning. Fr. Prendergast P.P. and Canon Leo Moore concelebrated Requiem Mass. Burial took place in the New Graveyard. Annie is survived by sisters, Mary, Teresa, Bried, Kathleen, Agnes, Philomena and Peggy, brothers, Hugh and Paddy, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, to whom sincere sympathy is extended. Her brother Phil predeceased her in 1979.

The death took place in St. Vincent’s Hospital, Dublin on Wednesday 26th June 2002 of Bridie Mc Loone, Main St. Glenties. Her remains were brought to her home later that day and to St. Connell’s Church, Glenties on Friday morning. Fr. John Mc Loone, P.P. Frosses assisted by Fr. Pat Prendergast P.P. Glenties and Fr. Joseph Briody, C.C. Ballyshannon concelebrated Requiem Mass. Burial took place in the New Graveyard. Bridie is survived by her husband, John, daughters, Bried and Maria, sisters, Cissie, Nellie and Kathleen, brother, Josie, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends to whom sincere sympathy is extended. Her sister, Annie Boyle predeceased her in1993.

Congratulations to Martin Kennedy, Main St. Glenties, who successfully completed a B. Sc. Degree in Quantity Surveying from Limerick Institute of Technology recently. He is a past pupil of Scoil Mhuire and St. Columba’s Comprehensive School, Glenties.

Congratulations to John Mc Loone, Tullyard Road, Glenties, who was conferred on Friday 28th June ’02 with a Masters Degree in Agricultural Science and Environmental Management from the Faculty of Agriculture, University College, Dublin. John is a son of Bernie and Bried Mc Loone, Main St. Glenties. John is also a past pupil of Scoil Mhuire and St. Columba’s Comprehensive School.
