Glenties Notes on July 26th 2001
RECENT DEATHS
Josie Boyce, Mill Road died in Letterkenny Hospital on Friday 20th July ’01after a short illness. His remains came home that evening and were brought to St. Connell’s Church on Saturday evening. Fr. Prendergast, Canon Leo Moore and Fr. Dan Mc Dyer concelebrated Requiem Mass on Sunday at 11a.m.
He was buried in the New Graveyard. He was in his 87th year.
Gracie Mc Monagle, Tievealough died in Donegal hospital on Saturday 21st July’01and her remains were brought home later that day. She was buried in Edeninfagh today, Monday after Requiem Mass in The Church of the Holy Family, Edeninfagh.
Patrick Gallagher formerly of Ardun died in Doncaster last week. He is a brother of Ownie and Johnny Gallagher, Ardun and of Bridget Sweeney, Letterilly.
CONGRATS
Congratulations to Ann Melly and Patrick Patton, who were married in St. Connell’s Church, Glenties on Saturday 21st July ’01. Ann is a daughter of James and Breid Melly, Strasallagh and Patrick is from Letterkenny.
Well done to Terry Mc Hugh, (who’s late father, Francie came from Stranaglough) who set a new world-record when he won his 18th successive national Javelin Title last weekend.
