Glenties Notes on January 2nd 2003
Sincere sympathy is extended to Nan Craig, Church Road and Michael Boyle, Ard Patrick, Glenties on the death of their sister, Mary Bridget Tivnan, Enniscrone, Co. Sligo, which took place on Wednesday 18th December 2002.
Sincere sympathy is extended to Marion Mc Guinness, Narin Road and Yvonne Doherty, Station Road, Glenties on the death of their father, John Bonner, Derryhinney, Doochary, which took place suddenly, on Thursday 19th December 2002.
The death occurred in London on 23rd December 2002 of Danny Furey, formerly of Mullantyboyle, Glenties. He is survived by his son John, daughter-in-law, Sheila and grandchildren in London and his brother, Peter in Mullantyboyle. His funeral will take place in London on Friday 3rd January 2003. A Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated in St. Connell’s Church, Glenties on 25th January at 7.30p.m. Sincere sympathy is extended to all his relatives and friends.
Congratulations to our Senior Team who won the League Final in Ballybofey on Sunday 22nd December 2002 and for the first time since the inception of the club, brought a Senior Trophy (The Democrat Cup) to Glenties. There was a big cavalcade of cars with the team on their way home and bonfires were lit along the way. A great crowd gathered in the town to greet them.
