Glenties Notes on August 2nd, 2002

The death took place at her home on Saturday 20th July 2002 of Mary Craig, Stranaglough, Glenties. Her remains were brought to St. Connell’s Church, Glenties on Monday morning. Fr. Pat Prendergast, Glenties, Fr. John Mc Loone, Frosses, Fr. Joseph Briody, Ballyshannon and Fr. Adrian Gavigan, Donegal concelebrated Requiem Mass.. Burial took place in the New Graveyard. Mary is survived by her husband, Terence, sons, Pat and Damien, daughters, Imelda Gallagher and Maria Craig, parents, Paddy and Teresa Cunningham, sisters, Teresa Bonner, Ann Mc Ghee, Bernie Farren and Breid Mc Grath, brothers, James, Pat and Francis, grandchildren, uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends, to whom sincere sympathy is extended.

Congratulations to Laura Cranley, Mill Road, Glenties and Andrew Mc Grath, Cork, who were married in St. Connell’s Church, Glenties on Friday last.

Congratulations and best wishes for many more years among us to Philomena Cannon (Rutledge), Glenties who celebrated her 90th Birthday last week.

Congratulations to Caroline and Cornelius Ward, Galway, on the birth recently of their first child, a baby girl. Cornelius is a son of the late Danny and Maureen Ward Ard Patrick, Glenties.

There was a large crowd again this year for our Graveyard Mass and we were blessed with a good afternoon. Mass was concelebrated by Fr. Pat Prendergast, Fr. Denis Quinn, Fr. Kevin Gillespie and Fr. Adrian Gavigan.

Sincere sympathy is extended to Mamie Mc Dyer, Mullantyboyle, Paddy Mc Geehan, Derries, and Nan Gallagher, Derries on the death of their sister, Kitty Mc Hugh, which took place recently in the United States.
