Glenties Notes on April 4th 2002

The death took place in Letterkenny Hospital on Friday 22nd March 2002 of Willie Campbell, Ard Mc Gill, Glenties. His remains were brought to his home on Saturday afternoon and to St. Connell’s Church, Glenties on Monday morning. Fr. Patrick Prendergast P.P. assisted by Fr. Adrian Gavigan celebrated Requiem Mass at 11.00a.m. Willie is survived by his wife, Nan, sons, Tony, Willie and P.J. daughters, Annie, Gracie, Bried, Rose, Bernadette, Philomena, Assumpta, Angela, Kathleen and Dympna, sister, Maria Mc Brearty, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Two brothers, Jack and Patrick and one sister, Sr. Agnes, predeceased him.

The death took place on Friday 22nd March 2002 at Letterkenny Hospital of Frank Mc Intyre, Ardconnell, Glenties. His remains were brought to his home on Saturday and to St. Connell’s Church, Glenties on Monday afternoon. Fr. Patrick Prendergast celebrated Requiem Mass at 1.00p.m. Burial took place in the New Cemetery with a Guard of Honour representing the Irish Army of whom Frank was a member during the war years. Frank is survived by his wife, Maureen, daughter, Maura, sons, Peadar, Hugh-Brendan and Frankie, son-in-law, Marty, daughter-in-law, Finola, sister, Lizzie (Omagh), grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.

The death took place in Letterkenny Hospital on Sunday 24th March 2002 of Connie Molloy, Mully, Glenties and his remains were brought to the Church of the Holy Family, Edeninfagh later that day. Fr. Patrick Prendergast P.P. Glenties assisted by Fr. Denis Quinn celebrated Requiem Mass on Tuesday. Burial took place in the Edeninfagh Cemetery. Connie is survived by his sister, Rosie, Mully, wife, Sylvia, daughter, Fiona, England, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. His brother John predeceased him a few years ago. His sister, Mary Anne also predeceased him.

The death took place in Harbour Lights Nursing Home, Bruckless on Tuesday 26th March 2002 of Bridget Ward, Main Street, Glenties and formerly of Meenaleenaghan. Her remains were brought to St. Connell’s Church, Glenties on Wednesday. Fr. Prendergast P.P. celebrated Requiem Mass on Thursday. Burial took place in Edeninfagh Cemetery. Cousins, other relatives and many friend survive her. Bridget, the last surviving member of the family of Peter and Mary Anne Ward, Meenaleenaghan, travelled the world for over twenty years in her capacity as a children’s nurse on cruise ships. Her sister Mary, with whom she resided in Glenties for many years after her retirement, died on 27th March 1999. Two other sisters, Rose and Annie also predeceased her.

Sincere sympathy is extended to the wife and family of Packie Sweeney, Letterilly, Glenties, who died on Friday last.

Sincere sympathy is extended to Rosha Gallagher, Station Road, Glenties on the death of her nephew, Simon Gallagher, who died in England last week.
