Glenties Notes November 18th 2004
Late Josephine Molloy
The death took place at Letterkenny General Hospital on Tuesday evening 9th November 2004 of Josephine Molloy, Main St. Glenties. Her remains were brought to St Connell’s Church on Wednesday evening. Fr Nigel Gallagher celebrated Requiem Mass on Thursday morning. Music was provided by Sr. Immaculata.She was buried in the New Graveyard. Her sisters Kathleen and Mary predeceased her. Josephine resided in St Joseph’s Hospital,
Stranorlar for several years.
Sympathy
Sincere sympathy is extended to Alice Brennan, Station Road, Glenties on the recent death of her mother Mary Mulligan, Leitrim.
Collection
All types of clothing for the African Missions will be collected in Glenties and Edenifagh Church Car Parks between 9am – 12 noon on Saturday 20th November. Clothing required are:- clean & dry ladies, gents & children’s clothing. Shoes- ladies, gents and children’s ( tied together in seperate bags please). All household textiles, bed-linen, curtains, towels etc.
Killybegs Community Hospital
Killybegs Community Hospital are anxious to surce a Spinning Wheel for use in their Day Hospital, the hospital is willing to pay a reasonable sum, but if one was donated the hospital would be very grateful.
ISPCC
The amount raised for the ISPCC at the recent church gate collection amounted to €536. Thank you to all who contributed.
Kilkenny National School
Kilkenny National School will hold their annual fund raising ‘Twenty Five Card Drive’ in McLoone’s bar Maas, on Friday 19th November at 9.00pm sharp. No under eighteens allowed. If you are unable to attend a stake of seven euro can be handed into the school or the bar.
Christmas Party
The Annual Senior Citizens Christmas Party will be held on Sunday 5th December in the Highlands Hotel. Mass is at 3.00pm followed by dinner an entertainment.
