New Arrival
Congratulations to Anne Marie and Martin Kennedy, Letterkenny on the birth recently of their first child, a baby girl. Martin is a son of Patrick and Mary Kennedy, Main Street, Glenties.
Boyle / Whelan Wedding
Declan Boyle and Amanda Whelan were married in The Church of the Holy Family, Ardara on Friday 28th August 2009. Fr. Aodhan Cannon officiated and celebrated Nuptial Mass. Amanda is a daughter of Brendan and Emily Whelan, Ardara and Declan is a son of Dee and the late Neil Boyle, Ardconnell, Glenties. Her father gave the bride away and her sister, Emily Whelan and her friends, Riaghan Byrne, Christine Boyle, Nicola Mc Guire and Nabla Molloy attended her. Stanley Baskin a friend of the groom was his bestman. The groom’s brother, Cathal, friends, Stephen Mc Hugh and Shaun Mc Cahill and the bride’s brother, Paul, were groomsmen. Katie Boyle, niece of the groom was flowergirl. Neil Francis Boyle, nephew, and Brendan Boyle, Godson of the groom were pageboys. Readings were by Darren Whelan, brother of the bride and Charlie Dooley, cousin of the groom. Paula Marie, Francis and Michael Molloy and Michéala Boyle read Prayers of the Faithful. Emily Whelan, mother of the bride and Miriam Kelly, aunt of the groom brought the Gifts to the Altar. A Reflection was read by Mary Mc Carthy, aunt of the groom accompanied by Catriona Ward on the flute. Music and singing was by Mairead, Pauric and Áine Mc Gill, cousins of the groom. The reception was held in the Villa Rose Hotel, Ballybofey and the honeymoon is being spent in Florida.
Sympathy
Sincere sympathy is extended to Patrick, Hugh and James O’ Donnell, Gortnasillagh on the death last week of their brother, John O ‘Donnell, Dublin; also to his wife, family and all the relatives and friends.
Cake Sale and Kids Fun Day
There will be a Cake Sale in the Community Centre, Glenties on Friday 11th September from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. in aid of the Glenties Theatre Workshop. There will also be a Kids Fun Day in the Community Centre from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. with Bouncy Castle, Face painting and Games Galore. Donation only.

A one – way traffic system will be in operation for the Harvest Fair Day – Saturday 12th September. From Mill Road (Connaghan’s) via Mullantyboyle to the Narin Road. From Station Road via Altar to the Glen Road (Back of Garda Station).
Collection
Church Gate Collection in aid of Mental Health Ireland will take place before Masses next weekend.
Parish Bazaar
Fintown Parish Bazaar will take place on Sunday 27th September in Colaiste Chú Uladh, Ballinamore at 3.00 p.m. All are welcome. Good prizes.
Rehab Collection
The Church Gate Collection in aid of REHAB amounted to €710. Thank you for your contributions.
Bingo
Bingo is held every Tuesday night in Glenties Community Centre and starts at 9 p.m. All are welcome.
Dance
A Dance will be held on Thursday 10th September in the Community Centre, Glenties from 9.30 p.m. to 12.30 a.m. Music is by Ceili Time. Admission is €8. Supper served. All are welcome.
Computer Classes
Basic Computers is starting in Glenties Community Centre on Friday 18th September from 10 a.m. – 12 noon.
