Congratulations to Ben Craig, Meenahalla, Glenties and Laura Byrne, Lettermacaward who got engaged during the Christmas Season.
Congratulations to Evelyn Ward, Straboy, Glenties and Charlie Mc Manus, Drumshambo, Co. Leitrim who also got engaged during the festive season.
Congratulations to Michael Furey, Mullanmore, Glenties and Mary Lou Browne, Donegal Town who got engaged last weekend.
A Fund Raising Dance in aid of Edeninfagh National School will be held in the Limelight, Glenties on Friday 18th January. Music is by local talents – Erin’s Own, The Shades, B& J Sounds, El-Diablo and The Next Generation. Doors will be open at 10.00p.m. Admission is 10 Euro and there will be lots of Spot Prizes. Come along and support this worthy cause and enjoy a good night’s entertainment.
Céilí & Old Time Dancing Classes will restart in the Highlands Hotel on Thursday 10th January from 8.00p.m. – 10.00p.m.
There will be a meeting of the Glenties Parish Council on Thursday 10th in the Community Centre at 9.00p.m. Everyone is welcome.
Yoga Classes will restart in the Community Centre, Glenties on Wednesday 9th January 7.30p.m. – 9.00p.m. Cost is 60 Euro for eight weeks.
The AGM which was due to take place this Sunday has been postponed until Sunday 10th February. The Minor Board AGM will take place this Sunday 13th January at 7:00p.m. in the Club House.
Following representations by Councillor Terence Slowey, Donegal County Council have informed him that the new anti-vandal stainless steel sinks, with worktops have been ordered for the male and female toilets. Cllr. Slowey has also been informed that this work, together with additional repairs to the tiling and plumbing will be carried out shortly. In addition the toilets will be painted in the Spring of 2008. Cllr. Slowey says that this is one small way the Council are recognizing the 50th Anniversary of Glenties 1st National Tidy Towns Award in 1958 and all other awards and good work which has been done over the years.
