Golden Wedding
Congratulations to John and Mary Josephine Gallagher, Strasallagh, Glenties who celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary recently and wishing them many more happy years together.

Bingo
Winners at the Tuesday Bingo in the Community Centre, Glenties were – Patricia Molloy won the Jackpot € 400. Mary Kate Byrne, Glenties, Bella Boyle, Kilclooney, Din Melly, Rooskey, Bernie Fitzpatrick, Glen Road, Gracie O’Hara, Killybegs, Sally Mc Guigan, May Kennedy, Mary Doherty and Maura Kilbane won €100 each. Annie Mc Gill. Fintown, C. Whyte, Dungloe, Patricia Hegarty, Glenties, Mary Clare Whelan, Brenda Reid, Mary Clare Whelan, Sandra, Anne Quinn, Rose Mc Groarty, Inver and Sandra won € 50 each. Patsy Mc Dyre, Glenties and Rose Mc Groarty, Inver won € 25 each.

Pilgrimage

St. Riaghan’s N.S. Drimnacrosh
Parents wishing to enrol their children at St. Riaghan’s N.S. Drimnacrosh for the school year 2009 / 2010 are invited to call to the school for an Enrolment Form. “Enrolment Day” will be held during the month of June. (Further details at a later date). Enrolment Fridays at Edeninfagh N.S.
Enrolment forms are now available at the school for the 2009 / 2010 school year. During the coming months, interested parents are welcome to come to the school on a Friday to view our new facilities and to meet with the teaching staff. Easter Table Quiz
A Table Quiz will be held in the Community Centre, Glenties on Good Friday 10th April at 7.00 p.m. in aid of Glenties Tidy Towns. All are welcome for a good night’s ‘craic’ with free tea, coffee and scones.

“Big Easter Bingo”
A “Big Bingo” will be held in Glenties Community Centre on Tuesday 14th April. Doors will open at 7.00 p.m. Ring Glenties Community Centre for further details at 074 9557880.

Divine Mercy Sunday
Sunday 19th April is Divine Mercy Sunday and is celebrated in Knock with Concelebrated Mass and Divine Mercy Devotions. A coach will depart from Glenties at 8.30 a.m. on Sunday 19th April. Anyone interested in travelling to Knock should leave their name in Mc Guinness’ Café or telephone 9551284.

Parish Council Meeting
There will be a meeting of the Glenties Parish Council this Thursday 9th April in the Highlands Hotel at 9.00 p.m. Everyone is welcome.

Holy Week Services
Holy Thursday – Mass of Chrism will be celebrated in St. Eunan’s Cathedral, Letterkenny at 11.00 a.m. All are welcome to attend.

St. Connell’s Church, Glenties

• Holy Thursday – Evening Mass of the Lord’s Supper – 7.30p.m.
• Good Friday – The Celebration of the Lord’s Passion – 3.00p.m.
• “An Hour around the Cross” with Fr. Shane takes place at 9.00 p.m. on Good Friday.
• Holy Saturday – The Easter Vigil Mass – 9.00p.m. Candles will be provided for use during this ceremony.
• The 11.00a.m. Mass on Easter Sunday will be celebrated as the Family Mass, for which the children of the Parish will prepare the Liturgy.

Church of the Holy Family, Edeninfagh

• Holy Thursday – Evening Mass of the Lord’s Supper – 7.30p.m.
• Good Friday – The Celebration of the Lord’s Passion – 3.00p.m.
• Holy Saturday – The Easter Vigil Mass – 9.00p.m.
• Candles will be provided for use during the Service of Light.

Trócaire
Please change small coins into € 2 or € 1 coins or bank notes, and bring your Trócaire donation in the special Trócaire Envelope provided in your Sunday Envelope Box, dated for Holy Thursday.

Collections
The St. Vincent de Paul Society Church Gate Collection for Uganda amounted to € 1, 102 in Glenties and € 76 in Edeninfagh. The Society wishes to thank everyone who contributed.

The recent Church Gate Collection in aid of ‘Inspire’ supporting Donegal Cancer Patients, Letterkenny Unit, amounted to € 1, 108.83. Thank you to everyone who contributed.

Dolmen Centre
Next Wednesday 15th April the celebrated Lifford Players will present “The Black Stranger” in the Dolmen Centre at 8.30 p.m. This play portrays the hardships of a family in famine times and is well worth seeing.

Keyboard and Piano
Keyboard and Piano courses will be starting in the Highlands Hotel with The Kenneth Baker School of Music. Enrolling is on the 14th April from 6 to 7.30 p.m. Suitable for beginners and all grades. Teacher is Stephen Rice Bmus Dip B.M.C. Tel. 087 9417124.

Grand Draw
A Grand Draw in aid of Letterkenny Hospital Cancer Unit will be held in the Highlands Hotel, Glenties on Sunday the 31st of May. Ticket sellers will be calling to homes in the area in the coming weeks.
