Leprechaun World Record on St. Patrick’s Day:
“Glenties will again try to achieve this record. This year “Gathering 2013 “is the theme, and the number of Leprechaun we are looking for. If you need part of a costume, or a full costume, please let us know sizes for adults, and ages for children, by emailing 2013 leprechauns@gmail.com or calling into Keeney’s Bar or Glenbrook Embroidery, Main Street, or on www.glenties.ie Full costumes are € 10, part costumes € 5. Those who took part last year and have their costumes will be registering on the day and their registration fee is € 2. Costumes ordered will be given out on the day, and all monies will be collected on the day. A great day is planned, so please come out and support”
Golden Wedding:
Congratulations and best wishes to Micheal and Bridget Byrne, Glen Road, Glenties, who celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary on Tuesday 26th February.
Naomh Conaill Presentation Dinner Dance:
Naomh Conaill Presentation Dinner Dance will take place in the Highlands Hotel on Friday 8th March at 8 p.m. Music by ‘The Gate Crashers’. Jim Mc Guinness and a number of All Ireland Players will be in attendance. Tickets € 30 are available from the Craft Gallery, the Co-op., Highlands Hotel, and Maxwell’s, Ballinamore.
The Late Owenie Gallagher:
The death took place in Letterkenny Hospital on Saturday 23rd February 2013 of Owenie Gallagher, Mully, Glenties. His Remains were brought to his home on Sunday and to St. Connell’s Church, Glenties on Tuesday morning. Fr. Pat Prendergast celebrated Requiem Mass. Family members did the Readings, Prayers of the Faithful and brought the Gifts to the Altar. Burial took place in the New Graveyard Glenties. Owenie is survived by one sister, Bridget Sweeney, Letterilly, Glenties, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends to whom sincere sympathy is extended. His brother Johnnie died in August 2011. Four sisters, Mary, Annie, Kitty and Maggie and another brother, Paddy also predeceased him.
Sympathy:
Sincere sympathy is extended to Fiona Mc Dwyer, Station Road, Glenties on the death of her father, Michael Carey, Buncrana, which took place on Friday 1st March; also to all the relatives and friends.
Sincere sympathy is extended to Josie Gallagher (formerly Mc Elhinney, Glenties) on the death of her husband, James (Daniel) Gallagher, Meenaharry, Ardara, which took place last week; also to all the relatives and friends.
Glenties Community Centre:

Glenties After School:
The Afterschool is hoping to run an extra Sports Session on a Monday from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. (sports are held in the gym behind Scoil Mhuire). School pick-up from Scoil Mhuire is available, and your child will receive a healthy snack and drink on arrival. If you wish to send your child please contact Bridie or Kellie 9551907.

Grand Old Oprey Tribute night in Nesbitt Arms Hotel, Ardara Friday 8th. March at 10.00pm. Jiving competition and dancing. Donation at door. All proceeds to our local radio station Owenea F. M.
