Glenties Notes 30th January 2008
Blessing of St. Brigid’s Crosses will take place at both Masses – 9.30a.m. & 7.30p.m. in St. Connell’s Church, Glenties on Friday 1st February. Blessing of Crosses will take place at 6.00p.m. Mass in The Church of The Holy Family, Edeninfagh.
Blessing of Candles will take place at both Masses 11.00a.m. & 7.30p.m. in St. Connell’s Church, Glenties on Saturday 2nd February . Blessing of Candles will take place at 12 Mid-day Mass in Edeninfagh. Candles will be on sale at the door of the Church. Packets of six are 5 Euro.
St. Blaise is the Patron Saint of Sore Throats and Sick Cattle. Blessing of the Throats will take place at Saturday evening and Sunday morning Masses in Glenties and at 9.30a.m. Mass in Edeninfagh.
A good night out for all the family will take place on St. Brigid’s Night Thursday 31st January in the Highlands Hotel, Glenties, with Cross Making, Irish Dancing, Raffle and Supper. Music is by Frank Mc Ghee. Proceeds are in aid of the Glenties Fun Park. Admission is 7 Euro for adults and 3 Euro for children, Family (2 adults + 2 children) 15 Euro. Come along and enjoy a good night’s fun and support this worthwhile cause.
Construction work is currently being carried out in the Park in front of the Parochial House. It is important that children do not enter the area while this work is in progress.
