Glenties Notes 28th June 2012
Sympathy:
Sincere sympathy is extended to the family, relatives and friends of Joe Ward, Upper Kilraine, Glenties who died in KillybegsHospital on Monday 18th June 2012. His Remains were brought to his home for waking and to St. Connell’s Church, Glenties on Wednesday morning for RequiemMass. Burial took place in the New Graveyard.
Sincere sympathy is extended to her son Kevin and all the relatives and friends of Kate Quinn, Ardara and formerly of
Main Street, Glenties, who died in LetterkennyHospital on Friday 22nd June 2012.
Bingo:
Winners at the Bingo on Tuesday 19th June 2012 in the Community Centre, Glenties were – Margaret Gallagher won € 300; Fiona Gallagher, Sadie Sweeney, Josie Martin, Breege Brennan, Fidelma Burke, Bernadette Gallagher, Frosses, Michelle Mc Brearty and Bernadette Gallagher won € 100 each; Latisha Doherty, Bridget Mc Ginley, Ed Doherty, Latisha Doherty, Breege Gallagher, Mary Mc Geehan, Bernie Martin, May Kennedy, Nora Gallagher, Fay Moore, Rose Boyle, Maureen Gildea, Breege Mc Callig and Brown Kid won € 50 each; Nancy Bonner and Nora Mc Hugh won €25 each.
Collection:
The Annual Church Gate Collection for Donegal Hospice will be taken up before all the Masses next weekend Saturday 30th June and Sunday 1st July.
Mission Appeal:
Next weekend Saturday 30th June and Sunday 1st July Missioners from The Holy Ghost Missions will speak at all Masses and make their Mission Appeal.
Glenties Playgroup Summer Camps:
2nd July – 20th July; Monday – Friday 10.30 a.m. – 2 p.m. Please book early to avoid disappointment as places are limited. Contact Bridie on 9551907.
Mass in Rossnowlagh:
A bus will leave Mc Guinness’ Café at 6.00 p.m. on Tuesday 3rd July and every first Tuesday for Mass in Rossnowlagh. The organisers wish to make an appeal for more people to join them.
Fundraising Country Dance:
A Fundraising Country Dance organised by the Mid – West Donegal Vintage Club will be held in the Highlands Hotel, on Saturday 30th June in aid of the Irish Kidney Association. Music is by Lisa Mc Hugh and her band. Dancing is from 10 p.m. – 2 a.m. There will be a Jiving Contest and refreshments will be served. Your support will be much appreciated for this worthy cause.
