Sympathy
Sincere sympathy is extended to Mary Ward and family, Straboy, Glenties on the death on Thursday 19th August 2010 of Mary’s sister Susan Connaghan, Killybegs (nee Mc Cole, Loughfad); also to Susan’s husband and family, extended family and all the relatives and friends.
Sincere sympathy is extended to the wife, family, mother, extended family, relatives and friends of Michael Mc Cahill, Derries, Glenties who died on Monday 23rd August.
Schools re-opening
Scoil Mhuire, Glenties will re-open on Monday 30th August.
St. Riaghan’s N.S. Drimnacrosh will re-open on Wednesday 1st September.
St. Columba’s Comprehensive School, Glenties will re-open as follows – Monday 30th August – First Years only, Tuesday 31st August – 1st, 3rd, and 6th years except 6LCA, Wednesday 1st September – All students except TY, 5LCA, 6LCA and Repeats. Monday 6th September – All students except Repeats. Please note that classes will commence at 8.50 a.m.

Congratulations to Rory Bonner, Buncrubog, Glenties and Aoife Murray who were married in Glenties on Saturday last.
Bingo
The winners at the Bingo in the Community Centre on Tuesday 17th August were – Martin Mc Taggart and May Kennedy won € 200 each. Margaret Hanlon, Leitir, 3Kathleen Boyle, Kilclooney, Bried Gallagher, Rosbeg, Maureen Gildea, Denise Campbell, Fintown, Sarah Long, Fintown, Noreen Mc Devitt, Aggie O’Sullivan and Hugh Gallagher won € 100 each. May Kennedy, Kilraine, Bridie Gallagher, Killybegs, John Mc Loone, Margaret Ward, Bried Gallagher, Rosbeg, Michael Sweeney, Ardara, Aggie O’ Sullivan, Rosaleen Boyle, Mary Gallagher, Kathleen Mc Shane, Philomena Mc Callig and Mary Furey won € 50 each. Sarah Long, Fintown and R. Melly won € 25 each.
Collection for Haiti:
A Church Gate collection will be taken up before the weekend Masses on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th in Glenties to help Fionnuala and Irene Boyle reach their target of € 9,000. Your support would be greatly appreciated.

Glenties Music Festival Committee would like to thank those who contributed to and helped out financially to this year’s festival, which ran between 25th and 27th June 2010. The Glenties Playgroup / Afterschool, Glen Road, will re-open on Monday 30th August.
Morning Pre-school session 9 a.m. – 12.15 p.m.
Afternoon pre-school session 1p.m. – 4.30p.m.
Children must be 2 years 10 months and potty trained.
“ECCE free preschool year Government scheme”.
All children born between 1st March 2006 and 30th June 2007 are entitled to one year free childcare place. Places still available.
We also offer Afterschool care for primary aged school children from 2 – 5p.m.
Children attending will have opportunities for play, recreation, socialization and personal development in a safe secure environment.
Activities include – Table Tennis, Pool, Art and Craft, Colliage, Cooking, Computer and Internet access, Play station, Nintendo Wll, Games and outdoor play, access to school Gym one day a week for indoor sports.
