Glenties Notes 25th June 2008
The Glenties Playgroup and Afterschool are offering a Drop in Service for children aged 3 years – 12 years for the month of July. Children can be booked in on a daily basis at an hourly rate of 3.50 Euro for the 1st hour, with subsequent hours at 3 Euro per hour. 2 small snacks are offered to children during the day. Children staying any more than 2 hours must have a packed lunch with them. Pre-school children are only allowed to stay a maximum of 3.5 hours due to health board regulations.
The programme of activities includes Art and Craft, Collage, Painting, Junk art, Make and Do Activities, Cooking, Quizzes, Ice breaker games, Table Top games, Races, Table tennis, Pool, Snooker, Darts, Football, Volleyball, Picnics and an Outdoor play activity centre. Computer access and Library access are also available.
Places ar limited so secure your child’s place by calling in and pre-booking or telephone 074-9551904. Service is open to all children in the Glenties and surrounding areas and also children visiting or holidaying in the area. Dates for Drop in – 30th June – 1st August. Opening Times – 9.30 a.m. – 5.30 p.m.
Congratulations to Declan Bonner, Glen Road, Glenties and Isobel Cunningham, Ardara who were married in the Church of the Holy Family, Ardara on Friday last.
Sincere sympathy is extended to the relatives and friends of Mons. Dan Mc Dyer, a native of Kilraine, Glenties, former Parish Priest of Stranorlar and former Principal of Mc Devitt Institute and St. Columba’s Comprehensive School, Glenties, who has died in St. Joseph’s Hospital, Stranorlar.
A Car Treasure Hunt will take place in Fintown on Sunday 6th July at 3.00p.m. sharp. Proceeds are in aid of Naionra, Baile na Finne. The starting point is at Naionra, Fintown. 10 Euro per car. First Prize – SAT. NAV. Refreshments will be served on return.
