Bingo
Winners at the Tuesday Bingo in the Community Centre, Glenties were – Roise Campbell who won the Jackpot €400. Vera Breslin, Bridie Boyle, Cissie Meehan, Vincent Ward, Gracie O’Hara, Din Melly, Katie O’Hara won €100 each. May Kennedy, Claire Greene, Denise McGuire, Aidan Mc Morrow, May Kennedy, Margaret Melly, Patrick Mc Crealy, James Gallagher and Kathleen, Burtonport won €50 each. Belinda Boyle, Paddy Mc Gill and Bella Boyle won €25 each.
Glenties Tidy Towns
Glenties Tidy Towns had a very successful WEEE, electrical waste collection day on Tuesday 7th April. We would like to thank everyone who helped out and everyone who brought electrical items that made it such a success. We will be having ‘clean up evenings’ and are looking for volunteers to help out. It will be for an hour or so on certain evenings and we would appreciate any help given. Contact Glenties Community Centre for further details at 074 9557880 or Mary Thompson at 087 9695053.
Rural Transport Programme
It is proposed that a bus would be available to transport people from all outlying areas to Glenties on Fridays. Cinemobile
Ireland’s Cinema on Wheels is embarking on its first ever visit to Glenties. The 100 seater cinema is visiting Glenties next weekend, on Friday 17th, Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th April. It will be parked in the Car Park of the Comprehensive School. Films to be screened will include the animated film – The Secret of Kells on Saturday 18th at 2 p.m. and Slum dog Millionaire on Saturday at 8.p.m. Other highlights for the younger film-goers at Bolt, Beverly Hills Chihuahua and Hotel for Dogs. Downstrands Family Resource Centre
Information Evening – Do you care for someone, a family member, a neighbour? Do you know someone who could benefit from an information evening on a range of related topics? Could you benefit from this yourself? If so you are invited to The Dolmen Centre on Monday 27th April at 8pm. On the night there will be speakers and representatives from a variety of support organisations with information leaflets also available. Light refreshments will be served.
