County Final
Congratulations and well done to our U/16 team who won Div. 2 County Final when they beat Urriss in Letterkenny on Sunday evening.
Table Quiz for Haiti
A Table Quiz will take place in Paddy’s Bar, Glenties on Friday 13th August, at 9.30 p.m. to help Fionnuala and Irene Boyle; Glen Road reach their target of € 9,000, which they have to gather before going to Haiti in October with the Haven “Build it Week” Programme. The money has to be in before the end of this month. There will also be an Auction on the night for a County U/21 Ulster Champion’s Jersey, signed by all the players and their manager, so come along and give your support for this very worthy cause.
Patrick MacGill Literary Awards:
Congratulations and well done to the pupils from Kilkenny, N.S. St. Riaghan’s N.S. and Scoil Mhuire who won prizes in the Patrick MacGill Literary Competition. Sympathy
Sincere sympathy is extended to Geraldine Molloy, Drimnacrosh, Glenties on the death of her mother, Christine Fitzpatrick, Belturbet, Co. Cavan, which took place last week.

Raphoe Diocesan Pilgrimage to Knock
The Pilgrimage to Our Lady’s Shrine, Knock will take place next Saturday 14th August. It will be led by Bishop Philip Boyce and occurs during the annual Novena in honour of Our Lady of Knock. Mc Guinness Coaches will operate a bus service for the Pilgrimage – departing from the Community Centre on Saturday morning at 8.30a.m. To book a seat ring 9551284.
Pilgrimage to Medjugorje
A pilgrimage to Medjugorje will be leaving Glenties on Friday 24th September – flying from Knock to Dubrovnik. The cost is € 669 inclusive for seven nights. Spiritual Director has to be confirmed. Phone Anne at 9551438 or Johnny at 9551505.
Glenties Community Centre
“Would anyone who has borrowed chairs, boilers etc. please return them as soon as possible to the Centre”. Bingo every Tuesday night in the Community Centre – Prizes – every House – € 100, every Line € 50 and Jackpot € 400.
Tidy Town
“This is the final week for judging and we would appreciate if any area needs painting etc. please do so. Thanks to all who have made special efforts in painting and displaying flowers this year”.

Friends of Lough Derg, Margaret and Bridget would like to thank everyone for their generosity during their fundraising Draw and Cake Sale for Lough Derg. The amount of money raised was € 2,600. Winners of the Draw were – Tony O’Callaghan – Box of Chocolates, Phil Brennan – 2 Bottles of Wine, Evelyn Moran – Bottle of Whiskey, Mary Shovlin – Iced Cake and Ann Brannigan – Hamper.
